About the Parks Service and Strategic Objectives
Croydon Council’s Parks Service plays a vital role in the borough’s commitment to environmental stewardship, public wellbeing, and inclusive community regeneration. As part of Croydon’s broader corporate objectives to enhance public spaces and promote community engagement, the service delivers projects that preserve local heritage while meeting the needs of diverse communities.
The “100 Years of Ashburton Park” initiative aligns with these goals and forms a key part of the council’s regeneration and heritage programme, supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. This project underpins the Council’s strategic focus on sustainable development, cultural enrichment, and public participation.
About the Role
The Heritage Project Manager will lead the delivery of the “100 Years of Ashburton Park” project, responsible for planning, managing, and evaluating its successful implementation over a three-year period.
The role includes overseeing a small project team and managing relationships with internal stakeholders, community organisations, and external contractors.
Key responsibilities include budget oversight, compliance with National Lottery Heritage Fund requirements, community engagement, and heritage restoration. The postholder will act as the lead for all aspects of the project, ensuring timely delivery, high-quality outcomes, and meaningful community impact—contributing directly to the Parks Service’s objectives and the Council’s wider regeneration goals.
