Live Well Croydon Service Manager - Grade 16 (£58,692 - £60,819) - 12 Months Fixed Term/Secondment

Croydon Council’s Live Well service is an integrated health behaviour change 12 week programme that offers residents help and support to maintain a healthy weight, stop smoking and drink less alcohol. Smoking, obesity, physical inactivity and excessive alcohol consumption are responsible for around 30% of the disease burden and are associated with the major causes of morbidity and mortality.  These behaviours are influenced by complex interactions between a persons’ social, economic and environmental circumstances.

As a service manager, you will lead the strategic and integrated Live Well Croydon service to improving health and social wellbeing and reduce inequalities within Croydon.

The work will involve the development and delivery of interventions across a range of localities, making effective use of community assets and ensuring that the service is accessible and meets the needs of communities in Croydon. The work will also involve leading the prevention agenda in the areas related to Adult Healthy Behaviours, particularly smoking, weight management and alcohol.

As service manager, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities to raise visibility of the programme and ensure prevention is at the core of all policies and for finding opportunities to align and link the programme with the NHS Health Checks programme (e.g. establishing robust referrals pathways).

The post is located within the Adult, Social Care and Health Directorate and is an ideal secondment opportunity.
